What is a picture boat company?
A picture boat company supplies watercraft that appear on camera in film, television, and photography — the way a “picture-car” company supplies vehicles. Picture Boats does exactly that for freshwater: we source, stage, and deliver the right boat for your scene.
What kinds of boats can you provide for a shoot?
Freshwater watercraft of nearly any kind — speedboats, sailboats, pontoon boats, cabin cruisers, bass and fishing boats, jet skis, vintage wooden boats, houseboats, rowboats, kayaks and canoes, plus crane and float barges for camera platforms. If it floats on fresh water, we can usually find it.
Do you supply boats for commercials and photo shoots, or only film?
All of them — feature film, television, commercials, music videos, and still photography. Any production that needs a boat on camera.
Can the boat be staged on a trailer or dry instead of in the water?
Yes. We can place a boat on the water at your location or mount it dry on a trailer for controlled and studio shots. Working (running) boats and static picture-only vessels are both available.
What areas does Picture Boats serve?
We’re based in the Austin / Central Texas area and regularly work the Highland Lakes and other Texas freshwater locations. Travel for the right production is no problem — just ask.
